White Chocolate Covered Lorna Doone “Presents”

Materials Needed:  Lorna Doone Cookies, White Chocolate Bark, and assorted Cookie Decorating Gels and Decorations.

Melt the chocolate bark according to package directions (watch carefully so it doesn’t scorch). Let the children drop the cookies into the melted bark and turn carefully with a craft stick or plastic fork until each side is coated well.  Remove the cookie to waxed paper. If the children wish to add sprinkle decorations, add them before the chocolate bark sets. For cookie gels, allow the chocolate bark to dry (no longer shiny) and then add gels to make the cookies look like “presents.”

Marshmallow Snowman Pops and Chocolate Pretzel Ring Snowman

Marshmallow Snowman

Materials needed:  Craft Sticks, Large Marshmallows (3 per each snowman), White Chocolate Bark, pretzel sticks, and assorted Decorations.

Have the children put 3 large marshmallows on a craft stick and set aside.  Melt the chocolate bark according to package directions (if doing with kids, it is easier to use a deep, plastic container that they can “dip” the snowmen into rather than trying to roll the pops in a shallow container.)  Set the dipped snowmen pops on waxed paper and let the children use any decorations on hand to make their snowmen (we used 1/2 pretzel rings for the arms, colored chocolate candies for the buttons, candy corn for the nose, and chocolate chips for the eyes.)  Allow the chocolate to thoroughly set before removing from the waxed paper.  Put the snowmen pops in decorative bags and tie with a ribbon to use as gifts.

Pretzel Ring Snowmen

Materials Needed:  Pretzel Rings, White Chocolate Bark, and assorted Candy or Gel Decorations.

Melt the chocolate bark according to package directions.  Have the children use craft sticks or plastic forks to coat the pretzel rings.   Place 3 pretzel rings on top of each other on waxed paper.  Let the children use  a craft stick to add a little melted chocolate between the rings to act as “glue.” Decorate the snowman with assorted candies, gels, or decorations.  We used red decorator’s gel to make a “Santa hat” on the one pictured above. Make sure the chocolate is thoroughly set before removing from the waxed paper.

 Waffle Cone Santa Hats

Materials Needed:  One Waffle Cone per Santa Hat, Red Frosting, Coconut, and Miniature Marshmallows

Have the children use craft sticks or plastic knives (supervise younger children well) to frost a waffle cone with red frosting.  Dip the wide end of the cone in unsweetened coconut and set on waxed paper.  Dip one miniature marshmallow into the frosting and add to the top of the waffle cone.  If the children want to take the cones home, place the cones inside a large plastic cup and then insert the cup into a gallon size bag.  It makes it easier for the children to transport without breaking the cones.
