Back-to-School with Personal GPS: Goals, Prayer, and Sustenance
As we begin to prepare for a new school year, I love to use GPS as a guide. GPS is an intimate personal navigation system that I use daily, weekly, and monthly.
G=GOALS – what are my goals for myself and my kids – daily/weekly/monthly.
P=PRAY/PEOPLE – Am I spiritually connected daily to help me teach the little people who need me present and to connect with other educators to help/learn/grow.
S=SUSTENANCE/SUPPLIES – do I have what I need to meet those goals TODAY? Am I taking care of myself? Do I have a daily/weekly/monthly lesson plan that is flexible as I see what my kids need and are interested in? Do I have support to help me help others in my classroom (if not, how can I make that better)? Have I gathered the resources I need in the classroom to help me achieve goals?
As all of YOU, our valued colleagues and readers, begin to prepare for the new school year, I hope you put yourself first. Plan for yourself as you plan for your own little ones.
How can YOU be your BEST this year?!
What will you add to my own list?
